Small gift boxes are used for gifts for many different occasions. These boxes are charming and very easy to make. Why buy a small gift box if you can do one yourself? This is not only cheaper but also very fun to do.
Making your own small jewelry gift boxes will let you choose what theme you’d prefer and the outcome will definitely be unique. There are many small gift boxes for sale, but making your own is going to add that personal touch. The best part is that it’s inexpensive!

To be eco-friendly, let’s try to make small gift boxes out of recycled materials, such as small cardboard gift boxes. That will truly make you save more. Plus it’s a great way of using your old items rather than just throwing them away. You can use different card colors to make black or even small white gift boxes.
A further suggestion is to try using old greeting cards. I’m sure you have stacks of those at home. At least now you can use them, instead of just having them stored in your drawers.
Follow these steps to make your small gift boxes:
First, gather your greeting cards. Use a pair of scissors, cut it in half to detach the front and back side of the card. The front side will be used for the top layer of the box; meanwhile the back would be used for the bottom. Make sure it’s cut perfectly to ensure both are the same size.
Second, measure the size of the box you want. Since we’re opting for a small box, measure it accurately. Take note of some important factors such as the size of the item you’ll put inside of it and the size of the card itself.
Third, draw squares on each corner of the top and the bottom part of the card once the measurements are final. Mark them so that the right measurements will be cut accurately.
Fourth, make sure all the sides of the cards are secured, by using the squares that were cut. Estimate the distance from the edges and make sure it fits perfectly.
Fifth, cut the folded lines from one edge to another. Make sure it’s perpendicular to the line in every corner. Just leave one edge uncut to make a tab.
Sixth, fold creases inwards. After that, open it up again. It will now create a small square fold mark on all corners. Most importantly, cut the vertical side of those corners or else, it will be cut off.
Last, fold the edges upwards. Then insert the folds then use a glue to keep them in place. I would suggest using a glue gun. Then you just have to repeat the steps for the other back half.
